Alisa Carrafiello is the proprietor of AC Pilates, specializing in the nine principles developed by Joseph Hubris Pilates: Breathing, Control, Centering, Balanced Muscle Development, Concentration, Precision, Rhythm/Flow, Whole Body Movement, and Relaxation. In applying these principles and practicing the exercise regimens, the body is continuously challenged; it responds by developing strength, stability, flexibility, and axial elongation, and stays true to the journey of fundamental whole-body health and rehabilitation. Alisa brings her experience in creating an evenly conditioned body to improve wellness and vitality, sports performance, and prevent injury with positive, disciplined movement.
Alisa is certified with Balance Body University in MAT I/II, Reformer I/II/III, Chair, Barrel and Apparatus. She has had the distinct privilege to have trained with three of the Pilates Elders; Mary Bowen, Kath-Stanford Grant, and Lolita San Miguel. Alisa’s Master training was furthered and enhanced with the invitation to attend the Pilates Master Mentor Program with Ms. San Miguel, consisting of over 3 years and 250 hours of extensive training.
Alisa is currently board certified since 2010 by the Pilates Method Alliance. She also holds a BS from Trinity College in Vermont. She regularly enriches her passion and dedication to Pilates with training and education. It is her vocation to create whole body wellness through her Pilates Teaching.
Alisa lives in Colchester where you will find her hiking, biking or just enjoying the outdoors and the lake with her son Jerry (who attends Landmark College in Southern Vermont) and her dog Suzuki. Alisa is also committed to her community and supports local nonprofits invested in arts and health.

Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Dhauladhar mountain range, Nitin has serviced hundreds of travelers from all over the world who come to learn ancient healing practices, and visit this special international and spiritual city, home of the Dalai Lama in exile. He also volunteers and works with Tibetan Refugees and other local community members who seek his services.
In childhood, Nitin’s thirst for knowledge first took him to meet his guru, Shri Shri 108 Baba Dhuni Nath, or BABAJI who has spent 35 years of his life in a state of super consciousness in the Himalayas. Nitin developed his natural passion for yoga and healing throughout the years by learning from his guru at Babaji’s ashram on numerous yearly retreats in the Himalayas.
Nitin’s devotion to the continuous study and practice of yoga healing led him Bihar and other cities in India, such as the father City of Yoga, Rishikesh, India where he studied at the Trust for Health Care, Education, Research & Development Institute: The Aham Brahmasmi Yog Mandir Trust. Also studying with Florida State College, HWFP, and San Diego College of Ayurveda, and honored Ambassador of Peace in US.
Nitin and his brother Shivam, who now teaches in India and Paris, have had the opportunity of being in close proximity of their teacher Babaji and among the yogis who taught them the discipline of yoga and meditation from a young age. Nitin and brother Shivam both dedicated their lives to spreading the ancient knowledge of yoga and healing from the East to western seekers. He also has been working and volunteering for the local community of Mcleod Ganj with organizations such as Asia Health Resort, and The Tibetan Delek Hospital.
Yogi Nitin has been touring the United States for 9 years now, working with various wellness centers in Florida, North Carolina, Michigan and Vermont. Pam is a Kripalu-trained yoga teacher, a non-dogmatic style of yoga that cultivates compassionate self-awareness, and invites students to discover the different forms of movement and postures that will open up their own unique body, breath, and mind. Pam believes that yoga should be for everybody, so teaches with a gentle approach that allows students to add challenge and heat only as their body allows and enjoys. Her classes have themes that allow students to discover the philosophy of yoga, while understanding how that philosophy applies to physical postures, breath work, and guided meditation. Examples of this might include finding balance, paying attention to the present moment, and finding compassion for yourself and others.
Pam has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, and lives in Charlotte with her husband, 4 children, and two dogs. A former Foreign Correspondent for CNN and other organizations (she spent 10 years in Japan), she enjoys travel, cooking, and reading in her spare time.
Carolyn Kovac's professional career has been focused in the business/management field. For over 35 years she was dedicated to the insurance industry where her primary responsibility was with the growth and development of business on a national basis. She was a principal/owner of the largest independent insurance agency in the State of Vermont.
She found that one of her key areas of interest was in the training and development of individuals entering the insurance industry. Carolyn found great satisfaction in helping people reach their full potential and assisting them in finding the correct path for continued growth. She now is "re-purposing" that passion with Pilates.
Upon her "insurance retirement" in 2008, Carolyn began to focus on her own personal life and body. During the last eight years she has worked in making her body as healthy and active as possible. In spite of back surgeries and other physical ailments she found there was no excuse for not staying active and being strong.
Carolyn packs her days with a daily exercise routine, extensive traveling and spending quality time with her husband, Jack, in Charlotte and (without question!) fun times with their little Havanese dog, Chanel.
